Excellent old European quality (painting in centre!) by Haley - Paris, in extremely fine condition with old patina! Artists of selected designs are named as designer in historical documents, Certificates of Authenticity and promotional materials. From the point of view of a numismatist, it is much too much for a medal that does not logically complete a collection. Mint, so you'd think it wouldn't be so hard to determine exactly what they're made of and how many were put out.

A., and Spanish coins, the latter occasionally countermarked (No. 29), supplied the gold and silver currency of Canada, while small change was supplied by a great variety of tradesmen's tokens, the majority imported from England. Many of these coins are familiar to us from literary references but it must be remembered that popular names are used very loosely and inaccurately, so that it is often impossible to say what precise kind of coin is intended.
